The project originates from the desire to shed light on the subtle boundary between being with the other and being for the other. The study focuses on the microcosm of the relationship as a space of intimacy and dialogue, opening up possible reflections on an Other stage, in which the relational scene, rather than expanding its duality toward the world, gives rise to an island of solitude where the Self and the Other dissolve into a fusion that becomes a limitation to the freedom of self-recognition.
The longing for love can become entangled in the pursuit of purely individual fulfillment, trapped between the desire for control and possession and the fear of loss. In the search for a balance between self-sufficiency and dependence, the couple, instead of experiencing the space of encounter as a vital place of evolution and growth, may withdraw into an embrace that only appears to be a meeting, while in reality it absorbs and erases.
These nuances reveal how the horizon of reciprocity, once exposed as an illusion, can evoke painful scenarios of loss and the dissolution of the self.
