Ljiubenice. Geographies of Memory

Ljiubenice is an ancient fortified stone village on the island of Cres (Cherso), Croatia, perched on a cliff overlooking the sea. Founded in the medieval period, it still preserves its original layout, with narrow lanes, stone houses, and traces of a rural way of life that has almost disappeared.
This photographic project was born from the observation of a place shaped by time, where the traces of the past coexist with the powerful presence of the landscape. Through the images, the village becomes a space of memory, revealing the dialogue between human presence, architecture, and the surrounding natural environment.
