With this photographic series, I explore a small corner of the island of Lošinj (Lussino).
Along the path connecting the harbor of Veli Lošinj (Lussingrande) to the bay of Rovenska, several concrete structures can be found built directly along the shoreline. In some areas, the buildings still preserve traces of color that echo the tones of the sea, creating a silent dialogue between architecture and nature.
Once used as storage facilities, small boat shelters, and coastal observation points by the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA, 1945–1992), these structures now appear abandoned and marked by the passage of time.
The photographs present these architectures as silent presences along the coast. The sea, wind, and salt have slowly transformed their surfaces, revealing cracks, traces, and essential geometries.
